The National Investment Commission proudly announces the successful hosting of the Liberia-Canada Investment Forum 2024, held at The International Center in Toronto, Canada. This pivotal event, attended by His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia, brought together key stakeholders from both nations with a shared focus on promoting investment opportunities in Liberia.
One of the most notable outcomes of the forum was President Boakai's announcement of the upcoming establishment of a Liberian Embassy in Canada. This landmark decision underscores the growing importance of diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations and marks a significant step in enhancing Liberia’s international presence.
The forum also provided an opportunity for President Boakai to reaffirm his government's commitment to fostering a conducive investment climate in Liberia. He emphasized the importance of key reforms in infrastructure, political stability, and governance transparency, all aimed at making Liberia an attractive destination for foreign investment. The President extended an open invitation to Canadian investors to explore the country's abundant natural resources and growing market potential, highlighting the mutual benefits of stronger economic ties between Liberia and Canada.
Among the distinguished attendees was Bill Sandy, CEO of QE24 Group, the company that organized the forum. The presence of influential figures from the private sector reinforced the strong interest in Liberia’s economic prospects.
The Liberian government delegation included the Hon. Jeff, B. Blibo, Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti, and Information Minister Jerolinmek Matthew Piah. Their participation reflected Liberia’s high-level commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and advancing economic partnerships.
